Today, the U.S. Department of Education issued a publication that outlines principles for educators, parents and other stakeholders to consider when developing or refining
policies and procedures to support positive behavioral interventions and avoid the use of restraint and seclusion. Read entire press release

Assessments for the Common Core Standards is a new set of tools that provide information about the development of Common Core Standards assessments.

•    Common Core State Standards Collection

The content of the collaborative work on Common Core State Standards Collection was presented to the partner organizations by the Council of Chief State School Officers and the National Governors’ Association at a full Partnership meeting in January 2011. Following the presentation, 27 organizations, 11 states and 22 technical assistance investments held a dialogue about the needs of the field.

On June 7-8, 2011, more than 50 representatives from national organizations, federal investments and private nonprofit organizations met in a Thought Leaders Forum that resulted in the creation of these materials.
