  • Reach out to our colleagues in education, health, mental health and children services. Use the materials to hold a cross-stakeholder capacity building session.
  • Convene cross –role groups to hold dialogue about the Needs of the Field using the Activity Guide that is provided.
  • Create your own Needs of the Field document with all the roles and agencies participating. Adapt the Activity Guide by using a document of your own creation
  • Register for a webinar repeated throughout April for virtual mentoring on the use of these materials by the IDEA Partners and the Ohio Center for Autism and Low Incidence (OCALI).

 

 

 

 

Ideas for Schools and Communities

  • Convene a group that includes the principal, psychologist or counselor, teachers, speech and occupational therapists and families. Think about ways to use the materials that fit your unique needs.
  • Send the link to your staff and ask for ways to use the material in your school community.
  • Create opportunities and invite groups to explore the ‘ready to use’ workshop materials during Autism Awareness Month.
  • Create parent/teacher teams to facilitate the ‘ready to use’ workshops.
  • Convene groups to hold a dialogue about the Needs of the Field using the Activity Guide that is provided.
  • Invite the district administrative team to learn more about ASD by exploring the materials together.
  • Share the materials with your local universities for use in teacher training.
