Website Overview
The IDEA Partnership website reflects our collaborative work. The information unfolds in a natural way and provides links to help you find the information you need. We serve a wide range of stakeholders in different roles.  Each section gives you a little information at a time and helps you understand just what you are accessing.  It means a few more clicks…..but we think it is worth it!
Across the top on the homepage, you will find large buttons that connect to the major focus areas of our work.  Each section opens with an overview that describes the Partnership work and the organizations, states and agencies involved.  These major areas of work include:
  • Dialogue Guides: Dialogue Guides are models for conducting interactive discussions across stakeholders in States and districts. These packages make new use of dependable and publicly available information. Each Guide circulates a common set of source materials and suggested procedures for involving various audiences in States and districts. In this manner, stakeholders (families, practitioners, professional associations, professors, policymakers, legislators) all over the country can begin interacting in new ways around implementation issues.
  • Communities of Practice: A Community of Practice is a human process for solving a problem that is important to its members and a powerful change strategy.  Multiple voices and perspectives contribute to real solutions.  This section highlights the work of our communities.
  • Partnership Work in the States: Partnership work in the States is organized around collaborative activities that build the capacities of States and stakeholder groups working together to improve results for students with disabilities.
  • Partnership Work with National Organizations: Leaders at national organizations’ headquarters and representatives of their State and local affiliates are involved in our Communities of Practice and in our partnership work in States. Other activities are collaborations between The Partnership and a national organization to advance an agenda that is of significant mutual interest that complements the work of Communities and States. This section describes our collaborative work.
  • Partnership Work With National Centers Federal investments in research, development, technical assistance, dissemination, and national studies are vital to the initiatives of The IDEA Partnership. Various centers are directly involved with The Partnership’s work in the States and its national Communities of Practice. Other activities are collaborations between The Partnership and a national center to advance an agenda of significant mutual interest that complements the work of Communities and States.
Down the left side of the homepage you may access an index of features, resources, and services.  The purpose of this index is to provide easily accessible information up front where you need it.
